The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the most dynamic hotel companies in the world and a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, is looking for a Director of Sales for an exciting new hotel in Amsterdam.

The Park Inn by Radisson, Amsterdam City West will be part of a 45000 sqm mix-use complex offering the widest spectrum of work and play facilities under one roof. The hotel will offer 476 hotel rooms, 19 multifunctional event rooms, a 700 sqm ballroom and various restaurants.

The DOS will become the face of the new hotel and uses his or her network to attract business for the hotel. As a part of the pre-opening team you will be working closely with the other pre-opening team members to ensure a successful opening. During the pre-opening the DOS will be responsible for and undertake the sales, marketing and promotional activities that will lead to a substantial base of revenue from the hotel’s opening onwards. The position will highly mobile and expect at least 60% of the time out of the office.

EXPERIENCE

The potential candidate for the position of DOS for the Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West should have a very strong commercial background in meetings, conferences and events in either a venue, hotel or at the client side (agency or corporation). Candidate should have a hands on experience in selling and hosting large M&E.

Track record in international sales (tradeshows, sales drives, FAM trips) in the M&E markets in the UK, USA and Europe is a must. He/she must have a strong network with clients in the international M&E, corporate and agency at DMU level. Adapts easily to a new local (Amsterdam) market. Is able to translate different needs, always showing true value for money. (or showing true experience for money). Good knowledge is required of all other market segments and sales channels, both online and offline. Network contacts in agencies, OTA’s, airlines and corporations are paramount.

He/she should be fluent in English, preferably Dutch as well, any other language (French, Spanish, German) will be a plus. The DOS should be a true pioneer, someone who has an authentic sales approach and thrives on working in highly challenging situations. He/she has the talent to gain credibility and sell an experience without being able to show the product. He/she is apt in dealing with all stakeholder. Strong presentation and networking skills are a must.
