Kora Directors and connectors will support customers to get inspired, evolve knowledge, skills, services and match people through our learning and networking events.
Kora at Evoluon is the first flagship building of 7500m2 and includes a mature Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) business with a new restaurant of 500m2 and an innovation centre of 2500m2 within it.

GENERAL MANAGER MICE BUSINESS

Location: Evoluon Eindhoven
Purpose:
- We are looking for a strong and talented leader that will be responsible for managing the whole of Kora at our iconic site at Evoluon.
- This person will pro-actively drive P&L results, increase the MICE business and grow the new innovation centre and restaurant business. Our target is to increase revenue from €3.5 to €5m.
- By using your existing network and knowledge you will help grow an entrepreneurial society.
- You are responsible for the overall performance of the location, including finance, cost control and increasing revenue. *Additionally you will also be responsible for engaging and inspiring people to drive a high performing and vibrant culture.
- As Commercial Director you will use sound market research along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills to support business strategy, product concept development and strategic marketing.
- Primary responsibilities include identifying and managing customer and collaboration partners to deliver specific strategic objectives, generating positive marketing stories and capturing insights.
Responsibilities:
- Actively exploring and maintaining contact with customers in the MICE-market.
- Monthly Business reviews with the International Managing Director including action plans, resource planning, reviewing competition and P&L performance
- Creating, participating and maintaining networks, individually in cooperation with the sales team, within different target groups and stakeholder groups both locally and nationwide
- Building network, within target groups and stakeholder groups (several entrepreneurial local networks, WTCE, BZW, CLC-Vecta, Brainport Development, local governmental organisations)
- Drive growth of network of locations around the Netherlands.
- Organize and conduct regular presentations/coaching sessions/events to local companies and local business partners
- Influence the volume of new business through effective local marketing activities and partner engagement.
Leadership:
- Recruit, train and coach your team to maximize their performance and engagement
- Lead by example and set the highest standards through personal conduct
- Empower your team to take control and think out of the box by being creative
- Effective communication with clear guidelines, actions and timelines
Experience:
- Experience in event, MICE businesses, restaurants or innovation businesses is preferred but not essential.
- Major contribution in leading the growth of an entrepreneurial services business would be a distinct advantage.
- Ability to set the vision for the future of Evoluon.
- Strong network amongst entrepreneurial communities in Netherlands and internationally
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to think strategically in terms of both short-term and long-term objectives and challenges
