Een evenement dat 5 procent van een stad in beweging kreeg...
EUROPEAN BEST EVENT AWARDS - De European Best Event Awards is ieder jaar weer een bron van onuitputtelijke inspiratie. Juist de diversiteit van genomineerde evenementen maakt EuBEA altijd de moeite waard. Wat te denken van Décrocher la lune met een duidelijk doel: een show voor en door de inwoners om ze een beter zelfbeeld van hun stad te geven.

DOELSTELLING: 'The idea is to help people and citizens to be proud of their city and also to be part of their own show. Helped by professional, people become aware of their capacities to make the world a better place to live in. Every three years, the challenges are bigger and the people are there to take them up', aldus de organisatoren van het publieksevenement.

CREATIEF CONCEPT:
'This 90minute’s show takes place in the center town of La louvière. Two main squares and a boulevard become stages and all citizens comes to assist to this free show. This year, the show was concentrated on Happiness: “The sun has a date with the moon”. Together with Sancho, a clown brings the live-saving laughs. He has to go unhooking the moon to bring the sun back to the city. During three years, a great social work has been made with the associative life around the sentence: “ I will..” And this edition was also taking care of the european feeling with a straight collaboration of seven foreign cities who has made giant puppets for acting in the show. All those citizen has been coached and help in their tasks by professional artists. Mixing professionals and citizens gives birth to strong links between people and draws souvenirs. In terms of numbers, this event is particularly huge: 35000 spectators, 200 technicians, 650 volunteers, 8 workshops and a full citizen mobilizations.'
EFFECT: het evenement is onderdeel geworden van de stad en een belangrijke uiting van trots, daar waar de stad te kampen had met een negatief imago onder de inwoners. Nu is bijna 5 procent van alle inwoners betrokken bij het evenement en komen 35.000 mensen naar de show kijken. De stad heeft in totaal 80.000 inwoners...
